Why hire a bunch of losers?

Now, before I get started, let me first say that many good people have lost their jobs in the last 18 months and deserve to get rehired.

But to me, "full employment" is an incredibly stupid idea. If you gathered 25 people together, not only would two of them have the same birthday, but there'd be at minimum one person who was so lazy they didn't deserve a job. They simply don't work. They live by the philosophy "I want a job, but I don't want to work" and continually move from job to job, as their bosses get irritated with their consistently poor performance.

Why should they have a job?

Part of the reason things in the U.S. has gotten so messy is that illegal immigrants are more than willing (and for the most part readily available) to fill the vacancies in the job market vacated by lazy people. People who didn't get an education, so can't work in the service sector, then move to the manufacturing sector, where they fail abysmally. An Tyson chicken plant, which runs 24/7, is not the place for a lazy person to work. So they soon lose that job as well, and it is quickly filled by an enterprising illegal immigrant, who is thrilled to have a steady job.

So, to me, 3-5% unemployment sounds about right. Adding more stimulus, with the idea that "now is the time to debt our country and try to get to full employment" seems like a fundamental lack of understanding in why many people are out of a job. It's not because their business got downsized. It's because they refuse to do the work required to earn an honest buck. More stimulus, to get money (jobs) to those people, isn't good economics, it's babysitting.

If we remove the fear of being unemployed, to many, we remove a major motivator for them to work hard.
